Secondary Operations

Secondary operations like tapping, reaming, spot welding and deburring are services that help shops like ours sink or swim in the manufacturing industry. If a company can't offer these services, they force their customers to spend extra time and money getting them done elsewhere. No company can offer everything, and services like painting, heat treating and ball burnishing are most often done as "outside processes" by experts who only work in these fields. At Chapman Engineering, we do our best to stay current with new trends and modern technology. So in the past few years we have added equipment like aqueous parts washers which improve the tumbling process by degreasing parts before deburring without using toxic solvents. Also we are the first company on the west coast to purchase a Hammerle production flattening machine, which in some cases eliminates the need for dual disk grinding or other costly machining operations to achieve flatness.
